Allman Jewish Life Fellows (JLF) are undergraduate students at Temple or Drexel University who will have the opportunity to create innovative programs in their Res. Halls, Majors or Greek houses.
Fellows will offer other students opportunities to engage in exciting social, cultural, and educational programming regardless of religious background.
Programs might include an interfaith discussion, an outing to a play, or a Shabbat dinner. Students can find comfortable ways to explore Judaism through programs YOU create!

What will JLFs be doing?
Each Fellow will be expected to attend an orientation meeting and then be present at bi-weekly meetings with the other Jewish Life Fellows and the Jewish Life Fellow Coordinator. Jewish Life Fellows will be paid a stipend and will have the opportunity to attend special leadership trainings, education Jewish workshops, and conferences. Each Fellow will be responsible to develop at least three programs for their target area in the spring semester. The programs should respond to the needs of the particular interest area and be open to as much of the Temple community as possible. The JLF should be accessible and willing to distribute materials to their target populations; such as information on Jewish Holidays and Israel and other topics.
There are three types of JLFs: - Jewish Residence Hall Fellows will work within their Residence Hall to facilitate programming for their fellow residents.
- Jewish Greek Fellows will create programming to enrich the lives of other students within their fraternity or sorority.
- Jewish Major Fellows will organize programs for their specific majors, capitalizing on their shared interest and passion for that field.
- All will:
- Act as a liaison between the greater Drexel Jewish Community and students they interact with at their programs, see in classes and around Res. Halls.
- Be a resource for non-Jewish students in their program areas.
- Design creative programming
- Control a budget for the semester
Becoming a JLF The Fellowship is prestigious, and should be taken seriously. Applicants should be outgoing, creative, mature, responsible and interested in creating vibrant Jewish life here at Drexel. All levels of Jewish knowledge or religious observance are encouraged to apply. Applicants will asked to provide 2 references and come in for an interview.
