Message from the President, Marshall Brooks As students begin to pause for fall break, campus sukkahs have been constructed, and the weather is slowly starting to get cooler, I am honored to be a part of Jewish campus life. The energy that exists on the campuses permeates the entire culture and each year brings with it new opportunities for students and our organization. read more New Students Flock to Philadelphia The month of September saw many full car trunks, suitcases, and RubberMaid bins in Philadelphia as all of the campuses welcomed the Class of 2012. From Welcome Back Barbeques to Shabbat Dinners, Retreats to Fondue Fests, Hillel staff and students were out in full force greeting students and welcoming them to their new communities. read more Summer in the City, Jewish Graduate Network While the undergrads packed up their dorm rooms and left campus, many graduate students prepared for a summer full of research, classes, and hard work. Still other graduate students came to Philadelphia for the first time so that they could get settled into apartments and jobs before the beginning of the semester. read more Edward H. Rosen Hillel Center Begins To Grow Construction is now underway on the Edward H. Rosen Center for Hillel at Temple University. Hillel is pleased to announce that the permits have been obtained and that construction has commenced. read more FocusFirst - A College Student Vision Initiative FocusFirst is a program that was started in Alabama by a Penn alumnus, Stephen Black, four years ago. The program aims to provide a cost-effective direct response to the vision care problems of preschool-age children who live in poverty, ensuring that they start their education with the best vision medically possible.read more Each campus in Philadelphia is unique in its mission, programming, staff, student body, and areas of study.
