Jew U: Drinking and Judaism

Its St. Patrick's Day. Purim is at the end of the week. What does Judaism say about alcohol? Purim is a holiday where people are told they are supposed to drink until they don't know the difference between Haman and Mordechai. Is this telling us to get drunk? We celebrate Shabbat by saying blessings over wine BOTH in the evening and in the morning. Does Judaism want us to drink all the time? How do the rabbis feel about it? What do we say about it? Join us for a discussion about Judaism and Drinking! Is there a topic that you would like to be part of the series? Let Allison know! Email her at apeiser@templehillel.com. Look forward to seeing you there!
