Construction is now underway on the Edward H. Rosen Center for Hillel at Temple University. Hillel is pleased to announce that the permits have been obtained and that construction has commenced. Led by Building Committee Chair, Alan Casnoff, the team of architects, construction company project managers, and Hillel staff have met bi-monthly for over 2 years. Timetables, construction plan reviews, as well as concerns and questions have been fielded and the new building is starting to emerge. Additionally, a student committee has been formed to meet with the architect to review interior features such as carpeting and furniture design. Also, Hillel is beginning to formulate a program by which students and community members can purchase personalized pavers for the rooftop terrace which will display names of those they wish to honor. A checklist of construction items has been placed in the main lobby of the current building so that students can track the completion of key elements of the Rosen Center and watch firsthand as the construction process unfolds. It is with incredible excitement that we await the completion of the building and look forward to making the Edward H. Rosen Center our new home in the summer of 2009.
