Executive Director, Greater Philly Hillel Network
tslil@phillyhillel.org | 631.388.2073

Tslil had previously served as the Executive Director of the Jewish Graduate Student Network, one of the few organizations in the country dedicated exclusively to supporting Jewish graduate students.

Seeing the opportunity for growth of Jewish life at small liberal arts schools in the region, Tslil was delighted to broaden his impact in 2017 by reviving Hillels In Philadelphia (H.I.P.), a multi-campus Hillel that provides programming to the Hillels at small undergraduate institutions. In the summer of 2019, Tslil and a group of dedicated lay-leaders launched Greater Philly Hillel Network, a multi-campus Hillel focused on Philadelphia’s “Small but Mighty” Hillels, which include West Chester University, Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College and the nationally recognized Jewish Graduate Student Network.

Previously, Tslil received an MBA with a focus on non-profit management from Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management in 2013, along with a MA in Jewish Professional Leadership. He is a Moishe house alumnus and has served as the Assistant Director of Cornell Hillel as well as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Programming at Congregation Beth Israel (Vancouver, Canada). Tslil began his professional career at Indiana University Hillel where he served as the Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellow, an experience that made him fall in love with campus work. Tslil lives in South Philadelphia with his incredible wife and two adorable daughters.

Tslil can be reached at tslil@phillyhillel.org or at 631.388.2073.

Before coming to West Chester University Hillel, Jenn was the Assistant Director at Camp Galil and the Youth Engagement Coordinator at Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia.

Jenn believes that every Jewish student can find their "right place" within Judaism and wants to bring the love and passion of Jewish life to as many students at WCU as possible. In Jenn's mind, no event is complete without delicious snacks and great company. With an estimated 500 Jewish students at West Chester University, Jenn hopes to be able to meet and engage each and every one of them!

When not on campus, you can find Jenn spending time with her husband, Matt and dog, Frankie in South Philly.

Rabbinic Intern, West Chester University Hillel

Faryn Borella (she/her) is a Jewish educator, ritual leader, community organizer and rabbinical student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She has worked with people from age 2-72 in a variety of settings--from Jewish farms to redwood forests to synagogues to graduate schools--to uncover and rediscover the liberatory practices within our inherited Jewish tradition(s) and to enact them for collectively liberatory purposes in our times. She cares deeply about community-building and ritual as modes of personal, communal and collective healing and transformation.

Faryn is excited to begin her work at West Chester University, for it is in college that she first began to deepen into questions of what her Jewish identity means to her. She is excited to support students on that journey for themselves.

His senior theses examined the use of sacred music in the context of professional wrestling,  and the role of race and whiteness in American blues music. After graduating, he became involved with labor organizing, eventually serving on the General Executive Board of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW or Wobblies). Adam and his wife, Katherine, moved from Minnesota to the East Coast in 2017, and live in West Philadelphia with their dog, Marshall, and cats, Ole and Dori.

Adam spent the last academic year as the Rabbinic Associate at the University of Delaware Hillel, and brings the experience and lessons learned while working on a large campus. Adam loves teaching Torah and rabbinic texts, and uses storytelling to foster meaningful exploration of Jewish identity. He is excited to begin at Haverford, and eagerly looks forward to the fall semester.
